GMAT and GRE testing options for the 2026–2027 admissions cycle are now available through flexible scheduling systems, giving graduate school and MBA applicants the ability to choose exam dates based on their own application timelines.

Unlike the SAT, which is offered on specific national test dates, both the GMAT and GRE follow a year-round appointment model. The GMAT is delivered at test centers around the world and online from a private location, with appointments available throughout the year.

The GRE General Test also offers flexible scheduling. ETS states that students can take the GRE General Test at home 24 hours a day, while test-center appointments are available on most days of the week.

For 2026–2027 applicants, this means there is no single fixed global calendar for GMAT or GRE test dates. Instead, candidates can log in to the official registration platforms, check real-time availability, and select a test date based on location, format, and seat availability.

The flexible schedule is especially important for students applying to MBA, master’s, and doctoral programs, where admissions deadlines vary by university and application round. Applicants are encouraged to book early, especially during busy periods before fall and winter graduate school deadlines.

Both exams also allow retesting, but candidates should plan carefully. ETS notes that the GRE General Test can be taken once every 21 days, up to five times within any continuous 12-month period.

As the 2026–2027 graduate admissions cycle approaches, the main message for candidates is clear: GMAT and GRE dates are available throughout the year, but exact appointments depend on test format, location, and availability. Students should check the official GMAT and GRE registration websites before finalizing their application plans.
